WIT Research Academy
The Research Academy builds research capability for postgraduate students, academics and research teams across Southern Africa. Programmes are taught by active researchers, using real datasets and real manuscripts. Universities, graduate schools and research units can book any programme as a private cohort.
What It Does
- Prepares postgraduate students to design, conduct and defend rigorous research.
- Equips academics to publish in competitive peer-reviewed journals.
- Trains supervisors to take candidates through to completion.
- Supports institutions building research capacity from a low base.
- Runs thesis completion cohorts for stalled master's and doctoral candidates.
Micro-Credentials and Short Courses
Research Academy micro-credentials are pitched at NQF Level 8 by design and serve postgraduate learners and academic staff.

Accreditation status. WIT short courses and micro-credentials are professional development offerings and are honestly labelled as such. They are not yet credit-bearing qualifications registered on the National Qualifications Framework. Qualification accreditation is being pursued with the National Council for Higher Education and the Namibia Qualifications Authority. Planned intake years shown on this page are targets, and each remains subject to accreditation outcomes.
